Aged Brazilian Man Celebrates his 123rd Birthday, Potentially Making Him the World’s Oldest Man

Andrelino Vieira da Silva, residing in Aparecida de Goiania, Brazil, claims to be 123 years old, celebrated with family. His granddaughter confirms his well-being.

Born on February 3, 1901, according to his ID, Andrelino da Silva marked his milestone birthday surrounded by family on February 3rd. His granddaughter, Janaina Lemes de Souza, expressed joy at his health and the family’s togetherness. She mentioned how people often approach him for selfies, acknowledging his local recognition.

Regarding celebrations, Janaina Lemes de Souza mentioned last year’s intimate gathering due to family issues, a tradition interrupted by current challenges. The family resides in three houses on the same property, with Andrelino living alone in one.

In 2022, amidst their recovery from Covid-19, the family commemorated Andrelino’s ‘121st’ birthday. A playful cake adorned with ‘O terror do INSS’ highlighted his humorous take on his pension claims from the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). INSS responded with a plaque expressing gratitude for his contributions.

Andrelino da Silva has witnessed significant historical events spanning two world wars, communist revolutions, and cultural milestones like the Beatles and Princess Diana. Meanwhile, MarĂa Branyas Morera, recognized as the world’s oldest living person, celebrated her 115th birthday in Catalonia in March 2022.

Maria Branyas Morera, born on March 4, 1907, attributed her longevity to a balanced and socially fulfilling life. Guinness World Records officially recognized her as the world’s oldest living person on January 7, 2023.
